Payment Methods

Credit cards are the most traditional method of payment: they are linked to a bank account, have a high ceiling and provide for deferred debit of transactions (usually in the middle of the month following the purchase), are accepted both domestically and abroad, and enjoy high protection against fraud. They are advisable for consumers who have fixed incomes and adopt good control over their spending.

The reloadable or prepaid card, on the other hand, is not linked to a current account, but works by means of a deposit of money that goes to "load" the ceiling before use: it is therefore subject to reloading fees and immediate transaction debit. It, too, is accepted in Italy and generally abroad, allows purchases in total anonymity, and is suitable for young people who have no fixed income or checking account and who use this tool occasionally, also because it is accepted for purchases on the Internet generally without additional fees.

PayPal is an online payment system that allows any business or consumer with an e-mail address to send and receive payments. In fact, by registering for free, you can open your own account (which allows you to make payments using your e-mail and its password) to which you can also associate a credit card or prepaid card, or you can top up without charge from your bank account. The basic idea is to carry out transactions without sharing card data with the final recipient of the payment: in fact, the system does not transmit the sensitive data of the cards linked to the account.
